18+ (or 21+ where required). Please gamble responsibly.
Keira.gg is intended purely for adults aged 18 and above. In some jurisdictions the minimum sits at 21, for instance certain US state-regulated gaming or parts of the Asia-Pacific, and when that applies the higher age threshold always takes precedence. If you, or anyone sharing your household, is already enrolled in a national self-exclusion register, honour that commitment.
When gambling begins to spiral
Problem gambling seldom appears overnight. It usually grows out of small habits that look harmless in isolation, until those habits start reinforcing each other. Watch for the warning signs below, whether in yourself or in a person whose betting concerns you. Any single sign is a reason to take a pause; if you spot two or more, turn to the tools described further down this page.
- Deposits creeping past your budget. A £50 plan for the night that becomes £80, then £150, then "just one last top-up".
- Trying to win it back. Logging in mainly to recover what you have already dropped, rather than for the fun of playing.
- Hiding the extent of it. Erasing casino emails, clearing your browsing history, being evasive with a partner about the sums involved.
- Funding play with debt. Reaching for credit cards, overdrafts, buy-now-pay-later or short-term loans to cover deposits, a line that should never be crossed.
- The emotional cost. Growing tense, anxious or distracted on your days off; nights disturbed by thoughts of the last session or the next chance to break even.
- The strain on people near you. Arguments over money, bills left unpaid, or missing time with family to keep playing.
- Other pastimes fading away. The hobbies you once loved quietly giving way to gambling.
Deposit, session and loss caps, now standard everywhere
Any casino licensed by a serious regulator (UKGC, MGA, Spelinspektionen, KSA, Spillemyndigheden, ANJ or ACMA) is now obliged by law to keep the controls listed below inside its account settings. Following the 2024-2026 regulatory updates across the European Economic Area, deposit, session and loss caps are available on every licensed site. Set them up on your first day, not after a losing streak has already taken hold.
- Deposit cap. Limits what you can pay in across a day, week or month. Take a moment at registration to land on a number you would not mind parting with.
- Loss cap. Stops play automatically the instant your net loss over the period reaches the amount you chose. A solid backstop under the deposit cap.
- Session cap / reality check. Closes the session, or fires a reminder pop-up, once a set number of minutes has passed.
- Wager or stake cap. Limits the total you can bet in a given window, no matter how much you win along the way.
- Cooling-off. Freezes the account for a stretch of anything from 24 hours up to 30 days.
- Single-site self-exclusion. Closes the account outright, for six months, a year, or permanently.
Lowering your deposit and loss caps normally takes effect straight away. Raising them, by contrast, tends to activate a mandatory cooling delay of 24 hours or more, deliberately, so that a heat-of-the-moment choice cannot override a calmly considered one.
National self-exclusion registers
Barring yourself from a single site only goes so far, since nothing stops you from registering with the next casino down the list. A country-wide self-exclusion register locks you out of every licensed operator in that jurisdiction with just one enrolment. It is free of charge, stays confidential and is legally enforceable on operators. The table below sets out the main registers across the markets we cover.
| Country | Scheme | What it blocks | Length | Where to sign up |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | GamStop | Every UKGC-licensed online casino and bookmaker | 6 months, 1 year or 5 years | gamstop.co.uk |
| Sweden | Spelpaus | Every operator holding a Swedish (SGA) licence | 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, or open-ended | spelpaus.se (BankID required) |
| Netherlands | Cruks (Centraal Register Uitsluiting Kansspelen) | Every KSA-licensed online casino as well as physical venues | At least 6 months, with no cap on extensions | cruks.nl (DigiD required) |
| Denmark | ROFUS (Register Over Frivilligt Udelukkede Spillere) | Every operator licensed by Spillemyndigheden | 1, 3 or 6 months, or for good | rofus.nu (MitID required) |
| France | Stop-Jeu / Interdiction Volontaire de Jeu (via ANJ) | Every ANJ-licensed operator along with the FDJ retail network | Three years at the least | joueurs-info-service.fr · service-public.fr |
| Ireland | Per-operator exclusion + a Gambling Regulatory Authority scheme (being introduced) | Each licensee separately; a national register under GRAI arriving in stages | From 6 months, often up to permanent | Straight through each operator; check grai.ie for news |
| Australia | BetStop | Every Australian-licensed online wagering provider | From 3 months up to a lifetime | betstop.gov.au |
Once you have added your name to one of these registers, do not go looking for workarounds. The entire idea is to take the option off the table while you are still thinking clearly, so a wobble further down the road cannot unravel that decision.

Supporting someone you care about
If your concern lies with a person you share a home with rather than yourself, there are practical steps you can take without waiting to be asked. Software blockers such as Gamban or BetBlocker can be installed on phones and laptops to shut off gambling websites and apps. Contact their bank about enabling a gambling block on the debit or credit card, most banks across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and France now let you flip that switch from within the mobile app in a matter of seconds. And do lean on the helplines listed above; each one of them welcomes calls from worried family members, not only from players.
